Engage!

Hi, travelers! As well as smartly getting you where you'd like to go in and around Seattle while you're here with us, we also have some pretty cool activities regularly scheduled right here at the hostel.

For example! Last night was movie night. We whipped up a ton of popcorn, stuck the most recent Star Trek movie into our amazing, cutting-edge HDTV, & sat back and enjoyed being enveloped in the vastness of that fabulous screen. Geeks bonded, new Trekkies emerged & a great time was had by all.

For another example! This evening was a veritable Latin Dance fest. We had a local instructor come in and teach whoever wanted to show up how to bust a few choice moves. Salsa, Mamba, Cha Cha, etc., all shown and explained simply so that anyone could wrap their head around it & dive in. People from literally all over the world showed up - we had a group so big it surprised even us. Pics were taken, wanderers-in were entertained, & moves were definitely busted.

So what have we learned here, guys? Whether you're coming up from Portland to see Alice In Chains at the beginning of February or here from Tokyo launching a tour of the States, you might consider hanging out here with us at the American Hotel. You are not isolated in a cold hotel room, flipping channels on a rusty old TV while you sift through an overwhelming pile of brochures. Nope, here you get not only our fantastic friendly staff 24/7 to answer all of your burning Seattle related questions, but clean, comfortable accomodations, tons of great amenities (which include free wifi and a great kitchen at your disposal), cool new peeps to meet at every turn and great activites.

So welcome, and we'll check in with more great stuff to report as we make our way further into 2010!
